Another day when, yet again, it was too darned hot and humid to be comfortable for photography and so I grabbed two quick snaps and retreated to the cool of indoors.
A heatwave had been forecast which turned out to last all of a single day but occurred on the one when I was scheduled be out and about somewhere that was photographically interesting. Typical! I had, accordingly, brought my OM-5 and M.Zuiko 12-45mm f4 Pro zoom with me in anticipation of some good snapping opportunities but even that was too much bother in the oppressive heat.
In the end, I grabbed a couple of snaps with my iPhone, one of an Artichoke Thistle and one of a Common Hollyhock and that was that. It was the hottest day of the Summer at 31.9C having been 26C the day before and with the days leading up to it of the seasonal normal of low 20's C and today back at 24C with the days following forecast to return to the usual 22C.
So the "heatwave" as forecast by the Met Office with all the Heat Health Alerts they issued is almost over or is over or strictly speaking actually never happened as it has, by definition, to be three contiguous days or more of 27C or over to qualify and we did not get that. Anyway yesterday was just highly unpleasant and not at all a day for photography.
