LilyHill, home to cultivars such as Irises, hybrid Rhododendrons and Azaleas, and wildflowers such as Meadow Buttercup and Birdsfoot Trefoil, plus grand trees including Monkey Puzzle, Beech, Douglas Fir and the majestic Wellingtonia aka The Giant Redwood.
I had a a bit of a walk around with my OM-1 II and 40-150mm f4 Pro this morning whilst the good light lasted and grabbed a few flower shots as I wandered about. This camera and lens combo is a particular favourite of mine this sort of work.
The late flowering Rhododendrons like Maximus and Humoreska are now in full bloom, but you have to grab them quickly as they fade fast and are soon gone.
There were a few cultivars flowering in the little water garden opposite the big house like the Iris Sibirica and the Geranium Endressi adding a lovely splash of colour.
All in all it was a most enjoyable mini walkabout with some good photo opportunities thrown in. Love Spring and the colour it brings back into the world after the long, dull old Winter.
